NIDCD Highlighted Topics

The National Institute on Deafness and other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) would like to share a new highlighted topic related to Training and Career Development in Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) Science in communication disorders. Key terms:

A highlighted topic is a research priority area within one or more NIH Institutes, Centers, or Offices (ICOs) that may or may not have dedicated funding. Researchers with interest in the topic should reach out to the appropriate contact (noted in the highlighted topic) to discuss how your research idea may align with the topic, appropriate parent funding opportunities, and other questions related to your application.

D&I is intended to close the gap between research and practice by providing frameworks and tools to understand why evidence-based practices aren’t being used in real world settings and to support people and places in adopting, implementing, and sustaining evidence-based practices.

The purpose of this highlighted topic is to encourage research training in D&I science via appropriate NIH funding categories, including those for Fellowships, Career Development Awards, Institutional Research Training Grants, and Education Projects to advance care for individuals with sensory/communication disorders. Questions can be directed to [email protected].
